RX-900e Essential to Foam Project
The RX-900e was an essential part of a recent Foam Cold In Place Recycling (CIR) job on Highway 20 in Iowa, performed by WK Construction. Foam CIR involves adding water to hot asphalt, causing steam, and resulting in foamed asphalt.
Since foamed asphalt is made on-site, the need to transport emulsion from a plant to a jobsite is eliminated. Also, since foam is less dependent on warmer and drier weather, curing can be as short as 2 to 3 days. Most importantly, foam uses less BTUs than emulsions.
Roadtec continues to remain at the forefront of asphalt technology and innovation as we support our customers.
