CIR Milling Machines
Both the RX-700e/ex and RX-900e/ex milling machines can be equipped with bolt-on packages that allow them to be used for Cold-In-Place Recycle (CIR). Since both machines are bi-directional, meaning that they can cut in forward or reverse, it's easy to switch to a down cut configuration. Simply work in reverse. Down cutting improves the control of material sizing and is advantageous in CIR applications. An additive spray bar is mounted on the cutter housing to inject emulsion or foamed asphalt into the cutter housing. The additive is then thoroughly blended with the milled material by the cutter drum and can be left in a windrow or fed by the conveyor directly into a paver.
Skid Mounted Additive Package
The self-contained additive system can stay on when using the machine for conventional milling or can easily be taken off the machine if no longer required. All of the components are easily accessible and all the controls are in one easy to operate control box.
Additive Control Computer
The computer and controls on the CIR package are located in one easy to operate panel. You can control and meter up to three additives which could include asphalt, (either in emulsion or foam), water, and a slurry if needed. There are also controls for the automated flush system to flush the entire additive system with a release agent to ensure proper daily operation. The operator must input values for width, depth, and unit weight of the material in place. The computer measures the speed of the machine and adjusts the addtive flowrates as necessary.
Water Application Rate Control System
Water control system includes water pump, flow meter, proportional valve, and spray bar to dispense water directly into the cutter housing. The additive control computer continuously monitors and adjusts the water flow rate to deliver the precise amount of water required to achieve the predetermined cold mix design.
Solvent/Release Agent Tank
An onboard release agent tank with drain allows you to easily flush the additive system at the end of a shift so all transfer lines and spray nozzles are conditioned for another work day. The solvent tank is in place to circulate fluid through the system and remove residue created by the CIR process.
Removable and repositionable control box mounted on the back of the operators platform provides the ability to easily operate the machine in reverse.
Optional Foam System
Includes asphalt pump, diesel burner, hot oil heat system, auto flush system, blending computer, asphalt meter, water meter, piping, heated foam spray bar and tow hitch. Can be also used to inject emulsion with proper cleaning.
